Product Quality

A while back we processed some sheep that were from 14 to 18 months old.  Once the animal is over 12 months it requires the "sheep" label.  A friend from New Zealand has been buying our lamb chops regularly.  He bought the last package of the loin chops marked Sheep Loin Chops.  They were tough and not tasty.

Please, if anyone else had this problem, let me know.  We will gladly replace anything of that type.  I don't know unless you tell me. We are young (in the lamb and goat business, that is!) and learning quickly so it is important that we know about any product that is not of the best quality.   Everyone has been great to us and our biggest problem now is growing enough product to fill the needs.

We'll be a Lake Ella today with some tasty samples. Goat sausage and something with lamb but I haven't decided what just yet.

This Saturday, March 6, will be our first time at the Farmers Downtown Market Place in Tallahassee. Look for it at Ponce de'Leon Park between Monroe and Adams.

It's supposed to be getting warmer by then.

Fernandina Farmers Market

We went to the Fernandina Farmers Market last weekend. It went well for my first time at such a big event.  There were more than 1,000 people strolling through and it was consider a slow day because the weather was rather yucky.  Goat samples always go over really well.  People that come regularly wanted to know what Saturdays we would be there and they would come better prepared.   Ken and Hanna came with me.  Hanna did the samples and talked to the folks.  Ken drove over and back and helped with all the heavy lifting and sales. We also hired a fellow from there to assist and he knew the program so it helped a lot. We will go back April 18 and take a lot less.  I'll have specific items only and a better display method.
