No ranch is complete without a flock of hens and roosters to liven things up. We let ours run loose in the day time and bring them into the coop at night. We have a resident fox and we have been able to keep him/her out of the hen house since reinforcing it a year or so back.
It is winter time and the hens and stopped laying for a while or maybe they are just getting too old. Which means we don’t have any eggs to offer right now.
We are checking out some Heritage breeds which are often better egg producers. When we get that going this coming spring we’ll make a big announcement.
We do use a certified kitchen to wash and package our eggs to sell at the Red Hills Online Market in Tallahassee. However, you can also come to the farm and purchase eggs when the girls are producing.
