The January Greenhouse workshop was a great success. There were 48 people in attendance, some actively participated, some just socialized and everyone learned a lot. There were garden gloves for sale and homemade jelly. There were lots of newborn lambs, too. It was a regular barn-raising!
Our son, Phil, worked with Trevor and Jennifer of FAMU to learn the technique. He gathered all the materials and gave the presentation. He was great! His jokes were funny and we all laughed at his jokes and learned a lot!
Here are a few initial photos. We’ll post a video on YouTube soon.

Dr. Jennifer Taylor, of FAMU’s State Wide Small Farms Program, is coordinating with the Camellia Garden Circle to conduct a free workshop on how to Build a Greenhouse for Under $100 here at Golden Acres Ranch in Monticello, Florida.
The workshop will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2:00 PM. It is a free session and open to the public. There is plenty of parking and directions to the farm can be found on our Visit Us page. Come rain or shine! We will have an area that is undercover if there is rain and a heater if necessary.
Members of Monticello’s Camellia Garden Circle will help answer questions about the best use of the greenhouse. And attendees are welcome to take a walking tour of the farm while they are here.
There are four lambs now and should be more over the next few weeks. We keep watching the goat momma’s too. They are so big but everyday I’m disappointed. They just can’t hold on much longer.
