Golden Acres Ranch

Naturally Raised Goat and Lamb

Katahdin Sheep

This breed of sheep is raised for meat. They produce a winter coat which is shed during warm weather. This is a parasite resistant breed and hooves seldom need to be trimmed. Ewes are good mothers often producing twins and triplets. The breeding stock is DNA tested for resistance to Scrapie. We do not use hormones of steroids to increase weight or to promote fast growth. They are raised on pasture without herbicides or pesticides.

I received my Certification as a Master Goat and Sheep Producer from FAMU and Langston University, OK in 2008. We now offer processed, grass-fed lamb for sale here at the ranch. You can special order HALAL-USDA processed lamb or fresh, not frozen. Contact me for a list of cuts, prices and directions to the ranch.

Johnston's Meat Locker in Monticello carries our product. Ask them for your favorite cut if you don't see it on display.
